ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Holds primary technical responsibility forsoftware development and enhancements as well as system reliability ofbusiness-critical applications and integration processes

·Acts as the technical lead for projects relatedto the development of new systems, architecture, applications, or technologycapabilities in support of business goals

·Works with stakeholders oninterpretation/translation of functional requirements into system requirements

·Designs and develops web and mobile applicationsalong with related internal and vendor partner system integrations and servicesutilizing distributed computing fundamentals and reactive principles asrequired

·Creates appropriate technical artifacts tosupport development and operations support within SDLC guidelines and application/architecturediagrams and logic flows

·Writes quality code that meets standards anddelivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the projectand delivers easy to operate systems by performing unit, system, automatedtesting, and post deployment validation design. Coordinates user acceptancetesting

·Adheres to and drives modern softwareengineering, by applying Agile and DevOps methodologies with an iterativedevelopment approach

·Migrates or transforms legacy solutions to microservices/cloud native

·Implements architecture, solution design, anddevelopment of core platform.

·Integrates monitoring, logging and metricsframeworks into every application and platform effort

·Troubleshoots application issues by diagnosingand debugging issues within production systems by performing thorough rootcause analysis

·Ensures alignment with corporate standards andstrategic technology decisions.

·Maintains and improves technology proficiencywith evolving technologies to achieve desired technical and business outcomes

·Stays current on technologies, platforms, andrelevant certification.

·Provides training and mentoring to other ITstaff and business users at all levels of the organization

·Finds ways to spread learning across theorganization (gives technical talks, presentations, etc.) and mentorslower-level staff.

·Learns, evaluates, recommends, and adapts to newtechnologies and techniques

·Requires availability for periodic on callresponsibilities.

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

·Leads the evaluation, planning andimplementation of applications/systems and programming needs for operatingdepartments

·Works closely with IT and Business Arealeadership to define and implement IT-wide application and relatedinfrastructure vision and long-term strategy in support of business objectives

·Leads software projects from department-specificto, enterprise-wide and customer- and vendor-facing implementations

·Estimates projects including assessing andmitigating risk

·Manages project budgets as well internal andconsulting resources for any size projects or software

·Performs project planning, system analysis,software design and coding, testing, documentation, implementation, andresearch activities as necessary for software engineering projects.

·Provides technical leadership and leads proofsof concept through development of valuation matrices through finalrecommendation, including hands-on execution where needed.

·Develops business case(s) to recommend systemsolutions and architectures and performs ongoing capacity planning for criticalinfrastructure

·Leads RFP efforts from gathered business andsystem requirements

·Develops customized presentations,demonstrations, prototypes, and architecture diagrams to prove a solution'sbusiness value to technical and business stakeholders.

·Conducts security architecture design reviewsand threat modelling

·Leads the IT application area effort on securityaudits and compliance reviews.

·Ensures all compliance aspects of position areknown and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, andregulations applicable to position and company.

·Performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment

·Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degreefrom an accredited school and 3 years of related progressive work experiencesas software development.

·Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’sdegree must have a minimum of 7 years of related work experience with a minimumof 3 years of software development experience.

·Specialized Knowledge and Skills Demonstratedknowledge of:

·Experience with Visual Studio, developingapplications (including web applications) using C# and VB.Net.

·Azure DevOps experience (Work Items, Backlogs,Sprints, Pulls, Builds, Deployments) is desirable.

·Complex query and script development usingOracle PL/SQL.

·Data conversion, migration, and integrationexperience with enterprise systems.

·Knowledge of the utility industry (electric /gas) preferred.

·Production support experience for a wide rangeof business stakeholders.

Demonstrated skills such as:

·Communicate effectively via multiple changes(written and verbal communication skills including composing and deliveringexecutive

·level presentations) with technical and non-technical staff

·Interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving,initiative, and the ability to thrive under pressure and with changes inrequirements

·Project management with the ability toprioritize and handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

·Equipment and Applications General PC and officesuites, and various software applications as outlined above

·Work Environment and Physical Demands Generaloffice environment. No special physical demands required. Some same-day orshort duration travel to area field or business offices required.
